Back Muscles pain (causes, Types and Treatment)

Back pain is the most common type of pain which we can easily see in many adults even I can say that back pain is a very common thing in each age's person nowadays. According to a health survey, back pain which includes lower back pain, middle back pain is the most common disease, 91% people are injured by back pain.


Causes
There are many reasons behind the back pain. A very common reason behind the back pain is muscle strain or a sprain.

  • Another big reason behind the back pain is our lifestyle. As we are not habitual about heavy weight lifting and when we do something like this, I mean when we lift heavy weight, then it leads stretching in muscles and resultant we face back pain problem.
  • - Back pain problem is also common in pregnancy time .

  • - Continuous sitting on a chair is also a big reason and we can analyze it most of the people who are working in IT field or who have computer related job, are also suffered from back pain.

  • - Exceed exercise is also a big reason behind the back pain.
  • - Sports injury or an accident is another reason of back pain.
  • - Arthritis - It the lower back, but can cause pain along any part of the spine.
  • - Medical problems are also a reason behind the back pain like
  1. injuries: - spinal injuries like fracture and sprains can cause chronic back pain
  2. mechanical problem: - a very common mechanical problem behind the back pain is inter vertebral disc degeneration. In this problem a disc between the vertebrae of the spine are breaking down with age.
  • - Osteoporosis, Skeletal Irregularities, etc are other reasons behind the back pain.
Types of back pain:-
In medical science there are two types of back pain:-
  • Nociceptive pain: - It is produced by "nociceptor" sensory fibers after an injury to a muscle, bone, joint and in skin. Common example of this kind of back pain is, back pain after a car accident, back pain after a surgery,
  • Neuropathy or neuropathic pain:- If there is any kind of damage in nerve tissue, then this kind of back pain raised. Sciatica, pain that travels from the spine down the arm is the common example of this kind of pain.
These both types of back pain are classified in lower back, middle back pain and simple back pain. Sudden onset low back pain is considered "simple low back pain". Simple back pain is raised because of over-stretch in a ligament or muscle.


Exercise to reduce pain:-

There are many treatments for removing back pain like exercise, yoga etc... exercise is a natural way to reduce back pain, but we should do it in right manner and for right time. Here, I am describing some exercise to reduce pain:-
  • - Lie on your back and then move ankles up and down for 10 times.
  • - Lie on your back and slowly bend and straighten knee. Repeat it for 10 times.
  • - Stand with weight even on both feet and raise heels up and down for 10 times.

As we discussed above right exercises and yoga are good treatment, but sometime we can't get permanent relief from back pain with exercise. But physiotherapist treatment is the best way to reduce back pain. In physiotherapy, some special exercises are used for reducing back pain. Apart from exercise, some manual techniques are also applied. Some exercise is performed by machines, but it is very necessary to do them in right manner and for 10 to 30 minutes. Otherwise, it can create some major problems. So it is important to take proper advice and treatment. Physiotherapy treatment is the best for all kinds of pain like pain in shoulder, pain in back and pain in knee.
