Prevent Disease and Dementia? Tips and Knowledge

Now you may be saying to yourself, "Is there really a way to Prevent Disease and Dementia?" Well, yes….and no. But, there are things that we can do to help control it or delay the onset.
I am going to cover the basics on what we can do on a daily basis.
Let's touch a little further on this. A proper diet is a good place to start taking control. Now, there are many different way of healthy eating that you can consider, such as plant-based diets or those that reduce the amount of sugar and sodium we take in. In a few days, I will be exploring more on this subject.
Prevent Disease
Here are some quick tips to consider, but consult your doctor to make sure these are safe for you:
1. Keep Magnesium and Potassium levels up by taking supplements. Eating a banana is not enough. Consider adding 200 mg of magnesium and 500 mg of potassium every day.

To prevent and control Diabetes, avoid sugar. Sugar can cause premature cell aging which will affect the whole body. Think sugar isn't addictive? Again, I'll go into more in a few days with my Salt, Sugar and Fat series.
2. Add Curcumin as supplement (400 mg/daily). Reproducing cancer cells don't die as other cells are programmed to. Curcumin can persuade cancer cells to "commit suicide" and stop their reproduction.
It is also recommended to avoid environmental toxins from household and garden chemicals, choosing organic or natural instead.
As we get older, we are not able to do all the things that we would normally be able to do. Many times Caregivers or others care for patients or family members with Alzheimer's. This can be a tough time for all parties involved. However, there are things that we can do to help prevent and even reverse memory loss.

Prevent Dementia and Disease

1. Reducing Stress – this is the best way to keep a sharp mind. When we get stressed, it inhibits our cerebral cortex (the gray matter responsible for mind function and memory)
2. Deep Breathing – this can help relieve stress and help with delivering nutrients to the brain. Practice just a few minutes a day to relax and help your mind.
3. Add caffeine – if you are not sensitive to it, some research suggests that small amounts of caffeine may improve memory and focus.
Use it or Lose It! You may even want to do puzzles, take a language course, as this will challenge the brain and keep it fresh. Be sure to also keep an active social life and exercise regularly, both which stimulate the mind and keep blood and oxygen flowing to it.
