Best foods to gain weight fast

No matter why you want to gain weight, here are some general rules to follow to do it while staying healthy. Contrary to popular belief, there is really only one way to gain weight and that is eating more calories than you burn. Sometimes it is hard to gain weight when you have no appetite, that is why herbal medicine manufacturer Floraeceuticals created the weight gain supplement Nutragainer. But while Nutragainer increases your appetite, not all foods are good when you are trying to gain weight. Since we are a natural company whose goal is to make you healthy, we won't recommend you go out and eat a whole pizza before you go to sleep or add 4 strips of bacon to your burgers. We want you to gain weight and feel great at the same time.
What foods will help you gain weight fastest?
Fats:
Obviously one of the food groups that will help you gain weight fast is fats. Fat contains about 9 calories per gram where protein only contains 4 calories per gram. That is more than DOUBLE! But what kind of fats are safe to eat? The short answer is oils. Canola oil, olive oil, oil based salad dressings are all great sources of healthy fats. Extra virgin olive oil, avocado, and flaxseed oil are also great sources of healthy omega-3 fats and are easy additions to any sandwich, pasta, or salad and you won't get that nasty sluggish full feeling you'd get from eating a whole pizza or double cheeseburger with bacon. We want you to feel great while you gain weight.
High-calorie protein:
The USDA recommends two to three servings of protein each day. Make your servings count with hih-calorie food like salmon, beans and nuts. Fish is an excellent choice to gain weight because of the previously mentioned omega-3 fats. A good rule of thumb for picking which fish will help you gain weight fastest is the darker and oilier they are the more calories and fat they have. A 4 oz. serving of salmon has 262 calories, which in addition to a salad, sandwich, or some vegetables is an excellent and healthy meal to gain weight.
Nuts and Seeds:
Another great source of extra calories to help you gain weight fast is nuts and seeds. Peanuts, almonds, walnuts, and many others are great sources of calories (about 160 to 200 in 1 ounce). You can add them to salads, or if you have a good blender/food processor you can make some delicious spreads for sandwiches or dips. Try to avoid heavily salted or processed nuts as they usually contain a huge amount of sodium which isn't good for you. I like to keep a bag of almonds at my desk and just eat them as a snack throughout the day and it has seriously helped my weight gain.
Dried Foods:
Dried foods are great to gain weight with because due to the lack of water in them, they are less filling so you can get a lot more of them down. Try to avoid chips and similar snacks because they are generally high in sodium which can raise blood pressure and sodium which can raise your LDL cholesterol levels. Dehydrated fruits, pretzels, and granola are healthier choices.
High-calorie drinks:
It is fairly commonly known that drinking your calories is a great way to gain weight. Not only are drinks easier to get down, they usually don't make you feel as full. Try adding a weight gain shake as an addition to your meals. Search for one with a healthy balance of nutrients you're looking for as well as a lot of calories. If you have a blender, fruit and vegetable smoothies are also a delicious addition to any meal. Add some yogurt or milk for a few extra calories and fat. If you don't have time to make a shake but still want to add some extra calories, look for 100% fruit juice in your local grocery store (organic is best) and drink that along with meals or just throughout the day.
