Prevent Insomnia Naturally to Get a Good Night Sleep

Several years ago, sleeping pills had been controversial when it was linked to Michael Jackson's death. Allegedly, Michael Jackson died after being wrongfully treated with a whole cocktail of insomnia drugs.
Most often, people who are affected with insomnia and tend to look for help with their sleeping disorder find it so much healthier to go the natural sleep aids.
In the U.S., 1 out of 5 Americans suffers from insomnia. However, it is time to turn away from sleeping pills although it has become the most prescribed medication in the world.
Generally, people need to have enough and quality sleep at night or else, one cannot fully perform a daily function. Insomnia can cause tardiness, lethargic and impairment. Also, the immune system can be affected, decreasing the resistance to disease and infections.

  • Try not to nap during the day

  • Practice eating magnesium-rich foods such as legumes, dark leafy vegetables, raw almonds and whole grains. Magnesium is a natural sleep inducing element
  • Raw honey is a god wholesome and natural food for promoting sleep. Two tablespoons of honey in a large cup of water or in a chamomile tea will do.
  • Drink plenty of water but avoid too much before bed time
  • Exercise regularly but not within few hours of bedtime
  • Relax most particularly when it is time to go to bed
  • Invest if necessary for a comfortable bed and be sure that you room is peaceful and comfortable enough to sleep with. Room should also be well ventilated
  • Do no sleep with a clock beside your bed so that you will be not tempted to keep on checking the time all through the night
  • If you cannot fall asleep at a reasonable time of going to bed, read quietly until you get tired
  • If a sleeping partner has been distracting you, have some nights in a separate room while you are getting into a sleep habit
  • Use natural sleep aids for insomnia made from pure essential oils
Most insomnia only lasts for few weeks. Major causes of short term or transient insomnia are as follows:
  • When you have to travel
  • When you have to move somewhere else
  • Worry
  • Stress
More often, transient insomnia usually occurs for 2 to 3 weeks.
When insomnia becomes chronic, it can be a real cause of concerns. A sleeping disorder becomes chronic when a person suffers from disturbed sleep for at least 3 nights in a week within a month or more. Chronic insomnia is a form of sleeping disorder when natural sleep aids are no longer effective and that requires you to seek medical attention.
